Edmond Memorial Marching Ensemble

The Edmond Memorial marching band is a competitive marching band rich in tradition and excellence. It explores the latest trends for competitive marching bands around the nation.
GOAL:
To provide an outlet for student performance, design, social and competitive opportunities.
PERFORMANCES:
The marching band performs at halftime of all home varsity football games as well as some away games. They also perform at all competitive contests and festivals; approximately 4 contests per season. The format of most contests are a prelim / finals contest. They also perform various community support appearances based on need and accessibility, such as parades or holiday events.
REHEARSALS:
Bulldog Band rehearsals are as follows, but not limited to:

Incoming Freshmen and preliminary after school rehearsals each year in May.

Summer Rehearsal: 4th of July Parade practices/performance.

Band Camp: Begins approximately 2 weeks before the first day of school for 7 hours per rehearsal day.

School Day Rehearsals: 6:50am through 1st hour.

Sectional Rehearsal: An additional rehearsal per week devoted to just the students of a particular section (i.e. Percussion, Guard, Hornline, etc.).

Evening Rehearsals: Every Thursday or Friday evening from 4pm-8pm depending on that week's football schedule.

Rehearsal and performance dates and times will be provided to each student as well as posted on the internet.
ASSESSMENT FEES:
Each band member’s costs and fees are based on but not limited to the following:

Uniform Accessories

Trip Food: The members are fed during ballgames and at least twice at all contests.

Charter Bus rental for certain contests.

Band director fees not covered by school funds.

Color Guard Fees: Because of the continual evolution of the Color Guard program it is difficult to foresee exact costs to guard members. However, typical costs include: Summer Instruction Fee, Practice Uniform, Performance Shoes, and Specialized Equipment.
